WE are - Creative Development Space (NGO)

Creative Development Space (Kreatīvās attīstības telpa) is a Riga-based cultural non-governmental organisation operating at M/Darbnīca – M/House of Jazz. Since 2020, the association has developed a stable year-round cultural programme that strengthens Latvia’s contemporary cultural ecosystem through live music, cultural education, visual arts, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

With over 700 cultural events delivered since 2020, Creative Development Space contributes to cultural accessibility, professional artistic development, audience growth, and international cooperation — positioning Riga as an active point on the European jazz and contemporary culture map.

This club is an official member of the Europe Jazz Network. We are truly proud and delighted to be part of this important European network of jazz professionals - Europe Jazz Network brings together festivals, venues, and producer organizations from across Europe, fostering artistic exchange, collaboration, and the international development of jazz.

Membership in this network opens valuable opportunities for Latvian musicians — increasing international visibility, creating new collaboration projects, expanding touring possibilities, and strengthening connections within the European jazz community. We believe this partnership will contribute significantly to the long-term growth and global presence of Latvian jazz.

We are supported by Valsts Kultūrkapitāla fonds (VKKF) and Rīgas Dome (Riga City Council).

Live Jazz & Cultural Programming Professional Live Music Programme and Audience Development Creative Development Space operates one of Latvia’s most active live jazz venues, presenting regular concerts and curated programmes that combine leading Latvian artists with international performers. This long-term programming model supports: - continuous audience development and cultural participation, - fair professional performance opportunities, - and sustained visibility for jazz as an essential part of Latvia’s contemporary cultural identity. Education & Youth Engagement We believe cultural access starts early — that’s why we run dedicated programmes for children and young audiences: - Jazz for Kids – every Saturday at 12:00 - Wednesday Jazz Jam Session – open community jam, with free entrance for all students These programmes create a welcoming entry point into jazz, creativity, and cultural participation. Ticket Price Policy & Accessibility Our ticketing approach balances sustainability with access. We aim to keep prices affordable while ensuring fair pay for artists and maintaining professional production quality. Student access is supported through free entry to Wednesday Jazz Jam Sessions, and our programming regularly includes community-friendly formats and collaborations.
