About the Event
PULSE TRIO is a project led by drummer and composer Paul Pokratnieks, who, together with Swedish pianist Fabian Kallerdal and Finnish double bassist Olli Rantala, creates music that transcends strict genre categories. The trio's work is based on improvisation, which draws on Pokratnieks' original compositions and incorporates elements of classical and contemporary jazz, as well as popular, folk and electronic music.
Pulse Trio's debut album, The End Is The Beginning (2022), has been listened to more than 300,000 times on Spotify and is included in the largest jazz music playlist, State Of Jazz. Songs from this album are included in both the Jazz In Latvia 2022 CD compilation and the European jazz media top list. In October 2025, the second studio album Now Is All We Have (Jersika Records) was released.
