About the Event
On December 3, Landæus Trio will perform at M/House of Jazz – pianist Mathias Landæus (Sweden), double bassist Johnny Åman (Finland) and drummer Cornelia Nilsson (Sweden). The trio has been performing together for more than eight years and is considered one of the most notable contemporary Scandinavian jazz ensembles.
Mathias Landæus is one of Europe's most renowned jazz pianists, with more than 20 albums and over 200 original compositions to his name. Cornelia Nilsson, whose debut album with Aaron Parks earned her the Ben Webster Award in Denmark, represents the new generation of Scandinavian jazz, while Johnny Åman is one of the most sought-after double bassists in the region.
The trio's repertoire includes original compositions, freely interpreted jazz standards and contemporary music motifs.
