About the Event
On March 14, Funcoolio will perform at M/House of Jazz with their program "A Tribute to Bossa Nova," dedicated to the Brazilian bossa nova repertoire. The concert will feature compositions and arrangements characteristic of the genre, based on the popular and jazz music traditions of mid-20th century Brazil.
Bossa nova developed in Brazil in the 1950s and 1960s and is closely associated with composers such as Antônio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, and Vinicius de Moraes. Funcoolio's interpretations focus on the rhythms, harmonies, and melodic structures characteristic of the style.
