About the Event

Louis Matute kopā ar savu mainīgās ģeometrijas lielo ansambli, ko veido Šveices jaunās skatuves brīnumbērni, pagājušajā gadā izdeva izcilu albumu "Our Folklore".

Louis Matute, along with his variable-geometry Large Ensemble, composed of prodigies from the new Swiss scene, released an outstanding album titled "Our Folklore" last year. Its beauty was widely recognized in the country and now resonates beyond its borders. As of now, Louis Matute has won the Prix Evidence 2022 from the Académie du Jazz, secured first place in the TSF Jazz prize list, and performed at the prestigious Salle Pleyel in Paris. This marks the beginning of an auspicious international career for the guitarist.

Louis Matute's extraordinary melodic talent, virtuosity, and his drive to advance his music, at the crossroads of Latin and Oriental sounds, traditional music, and jazz, are among his great qualities. This blend of cultures creates a unique artistic landscape, full of warm, sometimes melancholic flights of fancy, where the cohesion and harmony between musicians is total.

Louis Matute will be performing with Léon Phal on saxophone, Zacharie Ksyk on trumpet, Andrew Audiger on piano, Virgile Rosselet on double bass, and Nathan Vandenbulcke on drums.
